ok ok here are my Official partially deaf jeremy head canons, brought to u by an actual partially deaf bi jewish twink which makes me a leading authority on jeremy head canons:
- the reason he says “oh uh well im jeremy!!” when christine says “im joking” is because he just heard the “im” and the rest was distorted (very common partially deaf thing) and he assumed she was introducing herself. she was not
- being partially deaf has made his anxiety so much worse because he can’t make out background noise well or other people’s conversations so he immediately assumes that people are talking about him and making fun of him when he hears muffled whispers
- he knows some asl?? not a ton because he really doesn’t need it most of the time
- what asl he does know he teaches michael so the two of them can “talk” in class without getting in trouble
- Michael knows how to hack anything—ANYTHING—so that it shows subtitles or closed captions. he hacked vine, he hacked all their video games, he even once hacked a livestream that jeremy really wanted to watch
- “Michael how did you do that??” “don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answer to”
- the reason michael’s usually so loud is because he’s used to being around jeremy all the time and having to sort of yell when he talks
- Michael will crank the music in the pt up super high so that jeremy can feel the vibrations in the speakers and make out the music/lyrics better
- ”Michael ur gonna go deaf too if u keep playing the music so loud”
- yes he’s heard all of the “i can’t heere you” jokes. no they’re not funny
- he has “invisible” hearing aids because he was WAY too self-conscious to get the external ones and the invisible ones suffice
- the first time michael says “i love you” jeremy’s like “what??” and michael’s like “you heard me” and jeremy’s like “no i really didn’t what did you say” and they laugh about it for a solid 15 minutes
